Five kids.
Five completely different personalities.
One mom who somehow looked at all of this and thought, Yep. I can handle that.
Okay… maybe “handle” is a strong word.
Welcome to the Chaos Crew.
We’re loud. We’re loving. We’re occasionally held together by coffee and questionable decisions. There are sports, books, video games, school projects, endless conversations, big feelings, little victories, and approximately seventeen things happening at any given moment.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, there are five kids who continue to teach me that no two people experience the world quite the same way.
First, there’s Schylar.
He’s the one who has been growing up right alongside me. Sweet, kind, helpful, and apparently physically incapable of telling a convincing lie because the second he tries, he gets the giggles.
Then there’s Landon.
If there is a button in the room, he will find it.
And then he will push it.
Probably repeatedly.
But the second someone needs help, he’s there. Especially when it’s one of his siblings. He’s the kind of kid who can drive you absolutely crazy one minute and make you incredibly proud the next.
Hudson is somewhere nearby talking.
Actually, he’s probably been talking this entire time.
He’s sweet and polite, caring and thoughtful, and if someone around him is struggling, he’ll stop what he’s doing to help them—even when he’s struggling himself.
He also once received an award for being a conversationalist.
Honestly, nobody who knows him was surprised.
Then there’s Louie.
Louie has absolutely no filter.
None.
But there is always logic behind whatever he says, and he’s never going to soften the delivery just because the truth might be uncomfortable.
He loves deeply, cuddles fiercely, and lives life very much on his own terms.
And somehow, this kid who once had so little to say has taught me one of the biggest lessons of my life: you don’t have to experience the world the way everyone else does to be an amazing human being.
And finally…
There’s Kalli.
Our tiny terrorist princess.
She will absolutely whoop somebody for looking at her wrong and then, when they start crying, look at one of her brothers and explain that they hurt her feelings.
She knows exactly which buttons to push.
She knows exactly which brothers to recruit.
And she knows exactly how completely everyone is wrapped around her tiny little finger.
But she’s also the kid who will tell you she loves you approximately 150 times a day, say please and thank you, and wrap herself around my leg because apparently Mom is not allowed to go anywhere without royal approval.
Five kids.
Five stories.
Five completely different ways of seeing the world.
And then there’s me.
The mom in the middle of all of it.
The one with the coffee cup in one hand, a phone full of unanswered notifications, probably somebody else’s socks on the floor, and a thousand stories I never want to forget.
This is our chaos.
It’s not perfect.
It’s not always pretty.
But it’s ours.
And if you’re willing to come along for the ride, I’ll introduce you to the crew—one beautiful, ridiculous, complicated human at a time.
Welcome to our corner of the chaos.
