Soooo Apparently I’m starting a blog!

By

Well.
Apparently I’m starting a blog.
Do I have any clue what I’m doing? Not at all, and I’m not going to pretend I do.
At some point, between raising kids, drinking entirely too much coffee, keeping up with the laundry that somehow reproduces overnight, and trying to remember why I walked into a room in the first place, I thought:
Maybe instead of writing everything in my journal, I can share it with the world so other moms know they’re not alone.
So here I am… starting a dang blog.
I’m going to be straightforward.
I’m not built for soft people. I’m loud, I cuss like a sailor some days, and I’m going to blame that on the fact that my father is a truck driver—but I’m a grown adult now with kids of my own, so technically I could have corrected myself at any point.
But also, my children were not built for soft people.
That could simply be because of how I am. It could be because I was a teen mom with my first one and had my second a very short eleven months later.
Or maybe we’re all just a little bit ridiculous.
Either way, I’m not here to give anyone parenting advice.
I don’t think a single one of us can actually tell someone else how to raise their children, because we don’t know their children. We don’t know what they deal with every day. We don’t know what happens behind their closed doors.
We’re all just figuring it out as we go and trying to make the most of it while we do.
And honestly?
I wouldn’t want it any other way.
There will be stories about motherhood, family, coffee, kids, hard days, good days, ridiculous days, and probably a whole lot of moments where I wonder how the hell we got here.
There will be teenage sarcasm.
There will be little-kid chaos.
There will probably be some stories that make you laugh, some that make you cry, and some that make you say, “Oh thank God, it’s not just my house.”
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, there will be kindness.
Because you never know what someone else is going through.
You wouldn’t know the struggles we deal with every day if you saw us out in a crowd. And knowing that is enough for us to remember that we don’t know what’s going on in someone else’s life either.
So we choose to be kind.
We choose to help where we can.
We choose the benefit of the doubt, because even if that backfires on us, that’s a reflection of someone else’s character—not our own.
We choose peace and love, and we don’t allow anything or anyone to change that.
So… hi.
I’m glad you’re here.
This is Chaos, Coffee, Kids, and Kindness.
The chaos is real.
The coffee is necessary.
The kids keep me on my toes.
And I’m hoping there is always room for a little kindness.
Thanks for joining me in the chaos. Buckle up. It’s going to be one hell of a bumpy ride.
